Gary McCausland (born 10 June 1968 in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is Chartered Property Surveyor, property investor/developer, author and former TV presenter. He is the chief executive officer of The Richland Group, a property development firm based at Berkeley Square, London, UK. In the past, he was a presenter on channel 5’s “How To Be A Property Developer” between 2004-2008, as well as Property Developing in the United States to Granada Media.

The year 2005 was the first time Channel Five approached McCausland to host a show called the show How To Be A Property Developer. McCausland has since appeared on a number of properties-related TV shows for BBC1 and also produced House Wrecks To Riches for the Discovery Channel in June 2010. He is a part of Sky News’ Sky News Money Panel and frequently appears as a guest on Newsnight, BBC Breakfast, C4 news, Sky News and FIVE news.

McCausland was in the business for about ten years, purchasing and managing properties across the globe for “blue-chip” corporate firms. McCausland then established The Richland Group, based in Berkeley Square, London in 2001. Following graduation, he began working as an Management Accountant (CIMA) beginning in 1992 before moving into a higher management position in Cable & Wireless from 1993 until 1998, when the position was as an Estate Manager. Following this, he relocated to London and became a part of MCI and was their Estate Director from 1998 until 2000. McCausland was then employed by the Carlyle Group as their European Property Sales Director from 2001.

In 2013, he bought the former home of Rory McIlroy’s in County Down.
