Galina Sergeyevna Meszentseva (Russian: Galina Sergeevna Mezentseva born on 8 November 1952 in Stavropol) is an Russian ballerina, who enjoyed an extensive career as a professional classical dancer starting in the early 1970s until the end of the 1990s. She was the first of high-height Kirov ballerinas who had long , thin lines, who introduced a fresh fashion style to ballet fans. Mezentseva is known as a performer with a dramatic flair, and is renowned for her ability to improvise.
