Furio Radin is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on June 1, 1950 in Pula, Istria County, Croatia. Furio Radin was born the 1st of June 1950 in Pula which is where he went to high and elementary school. He graduated with a diploma in psychology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and then earned a doctorate in the same area of research. In his early years and later in his career, he was involved in the Croatian section of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia in which he was responsible for the research activities of the young.

Radin has been married for a while to the sociologist Helena Stimac-Radin. She is Chairwoman of the Office for Gender Equality of the Croatian Government. His wife was an active part of the Croatian Social Liberal Party between 1990 and 1997, and also from the Liberal Party, in which she was Vice President between 1997 and 2006. The couple is not married. Furio Radin does however own two daughters: Petra as well as Paola both of whom are children from his first marriage to Jasna Petrovic. His brother Fabrizio is a part of the Istrian Democratic Assembly party, is President of the Executive Committee of the Italian Union in Croatia and also the acting Prefect for Istria County, since 6 July 2019. Fabrizio was also three times Deputy Mayor of Pula and the Vice Prefect for Istria County, from 2017 to the year 2019.

Radin has been elected first to the parliament at the 1992 election. He was later reelected for seven more terms in the 1995 2000, 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2016 elections in the respective elections of 2005, 2011, 2015 and 2016. Although he’s officially as an independent politician, he’s worked in the regionalism-liberal Istrian Democratic Assembly party, which is the parliamentary club in which Radin also sits.

Furio Radin (born 1 June 1950) is a Croatian politician currently an MP in the Croatian Parliament for the Italian national minority, a position which he has held since September 1992. He is also the chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities since 2000, and has been one of the Parliament’s Deputy Speakers since the 19th of June, 2017. Radin was the longest-serving member of the Parliament in Croatian history in terms of time served, which is 27 years and 259 consecutive days as of May 2020.

Radin was elected first into the Croatian Parliament in 1992 parliamentary elections, serving as a representative of members of the Italian national minority. He was elected again in the following seven elections. He didn’t actively campaign in the 2011 election as he was not the sole candidate. Between 1993 between 2001 and 1993, he served as a councillor in Istria County’s Assembly of Istria County. In 2000, Radin has presided over the Parliament’s Committee on Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities, having been elected to this position six times until 2017.

He is the elder brother of Fabrizio Radin, the Acting Prefect of Istria County since 2019.
