He was absent from the tournament of March 2014 recovering from a detached retina operation. The result was his being sent into juryo again for the May 2014 tournament in which the only thing he could do was a 7-8 score. He was awarded the championship of the juryo division in March of 2015 and was then promoted to makuuchi. However, it was his first time in the elite division. was only one event as he managed to only manage 3-12. This was his only makuuchi appearance until now. He was moved into the division of makushita following his September tournament however, he was promoted to juryo for the month of March after a score of 5-2 on makushita3 in January. The time he was in juryo was just one event and he returned to the makushita division by May 2017. He was ranked at the top in the makushita division, the #1 East division, in May 2019 but failed to win all of his wins, which could have sent his juryo status and scored 3-4.
