Fred Pellerin (born November 22, 1976) is a Canadian musician and storyteller from Saint-Elie-de-Caxton, Quebec. He has been a three-time Juno Award nominee for Francophone Album of the Year. He was nominated during the Juno Awards of 2011 for Silence, the Juno Awards of 2012 for C’est un monde, and the Juno Awards of 2020 for Apres. The group also the recording of “L’Hymne”, the theme track for the Film Snowtime! (La Guerre des Tuques 3D) in duet with Celine Dion.
Together with Francis Leclerc, he cowrote the screenplay of the 2017 Film Barefoot at Dawn (Pieds nus dans l’aube) which is based on a novel written by Felix Leclerc.
In 2012 The government led by Jean Charest named Pellerin to the National Order of Quebec. Pellerin initially refused the honor to show solidarity with his support for the Quebec Student protests that were held against Charest’s administration however, he accepted it following Charest lost the provincial election.

He graduated from the Universite of Quebec in Trois-Rivieres He started performing and touring as a storyteller in the early 2000s. His stories usually revolve around stories from the Mauricie the region in Quebec which is where he grew up. 2007 was the year that Pellerin as well as his younger brothers Nicolas and Nicolas released their debut album as a folk-based duo. He also performed in Dion’s TVA special to celebrate their album, Sans Attire and performed Gerry Joly’s “Mille apres mille” as a duet with Dion.
A short story from the book Il must take the taureau par les contes, was modified to be adapted by Luc Picard for the film Babine. In the following calendar year Picard made another movie with a screenplay written by Pellerin, Esimesac.
