Fred Omach is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 16, 1953 in Uganda. His birthplace was in Nebbi District on 16 April 1953. Fred Omach attended St. Aloysius College Nyapea, in the current Zombo District, for his O-Level studies. He later went to Lango College in Lira for A-Level studies. He graduated in 1973. He then enrolled in Makerere University, the oldest university in East Africa in 1974, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts from the Department of Economics as well as Social Administration.
He was previously State Minister of Finance (General Charges) within the Ugandan Cabinet. The appointment to the post in the year 2006. In the cabinet reshuffle on 16 February 2009 as well as the one on May 27, 2011, he was able to keep his cabinet position.
Fred Mandir Jachan Omach, commonly known as Fred Omach is a Ugandan banker and politician. He is the current Chairman of the board of directors at Uganda National Roads Authority, since 14 March 2017.
He was also the MP elected (MP) of “Jonam County”, Nebbi District from 2001 to 2016.

After graduation at Makerere University, he was employed as a personnel officer in the Uganda Ministry of Public Service in the year 1978. In 1979, he joined now closed Uganda Commercial Bank (UCB) which was the biggest commercial bank operating in Uganda at the time. He rose up the ranks, eventually reaching the position of General Manager, within UCB.
He left the banking industry and began his political career in 2001. In 2001, Omach successfully contested for the parliamentary seat “Jonam County”, Nebbi District. He was repeatedly elected from then until losing the seat in the year 2016.
In March 2017, he was appointed chairman of the seven-person board of directors at UNRA, the national roads authority in Uganda. His term runs until March 2020.
