Frankie Gavin is one of the most popular and richest Boxer who was born on September 28, 1985 in Galway, County Galway, Ireland. Frankie Raymond Gavin (born 28 September 1985) is a British professional boxer from Britain. He was the holder of his British and Commonwealth Welterweight titles from 2012 and 2015. He has fought once for the IBF world title in 2015. In his amateur days, Gavin was awarded a silver medal at the light division of 2007’s World Championships, becoming England’s first-ever winner of the competition. Gavin also took home the light gold medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

In the 2007 World Championships he first beat the reigning world silver medallist and Southpaw Romal Amanov from Azerbaijan with an eluding knockdown. Frankie was then able to cause a major surprise by beating Russian star Aleksei Tishchenko, who had not lost in four years, in the final, where he defeated Italian Domenico Valentino 19:10.

Gavin was Great Britain’s best hope of a boxing medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, but was unable to make the weight and was therefore unable to compete.

He stepped up in weight and won the 2008 EU tournament in Poland receiving boxer of the tournament as well. As of 2007 he has won 100 of his 121 amateur contests.

On the international stage, Gavin defeated Giovanni Frontin from Mauritius to claim gold in the 2006. Commonwealth Games in the lightweight (60 kg) division. In 2006, he took bronze in the European Union Championships losing to Domenico Valentino in the semi-final. Gavin has beaten him twice since.

As an amateur in the US, Gavin represented the Birmingham’s Hall Green boxing club with who he won the English ABA championship in 2005 and 2007, and also the English ABA championship in 2005 and 2007 as well as a Four Nations championship in 2005.
