Francis Yeoh Sock Ping PSM KBE FICE (born 23 August 1954) is a Malaysian businessman and the son of the late Malaysia billionaire Yeoh Tiong Lay. He was appointed as the manager of YTL Corporation in 1988 and developed to become a multinational conglomerate that comprises six listed companies. YTL Corporation Berhad, YTL Power International Berhad, YTL Land & Development Berhad, YTL Hospitality REIT, Lafarge Malaysia Berhad and Starhill Global REIT have a total market Capitalisation of around RM29.1 billion (US$7.1 billion) and total assets of RM74.7 billion (US$18.2 billion). YTL Group owns and manages the regulated utilities, real property as well as infrastructure properties. Apart from managing the core companies, Tan Sri Francis is the Executive chairman of YTL Starhill Global REIT Management Limited which is the manager of Starhill Global REIT. He is also Chairman of YTL PowerSeraya Private Limited, which has 20% in the Singapore Electricity market. He is also Chairman of Wessex Water Services Limited, acknowledged as the most reliable water and sewerage service provider within England as well as Wales (2010-2011) according to the regulator of the water industry, Ofwat. He is also the Executive chairman of LaFarge Malaysia Berhad following its acquisition of YTL Cement Berhad.
A group of Nobel Prize winners named him the ‘Primus Inter Pares Honoree’ of the Oslo Business for Peace Award for promoting ethical business practices and ethics. The same year, he was awarded the award of Corporate Social Responsibility from the CNBC’s Asia Business Leaders Awards.
He received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Regulated Industries at the 7th World Chinese Economic Summit held in London in 2015 and he was named CEO of the Year at the Asian Power Awards 2017.
