From 2012 to 2017, TBA21 had an exhibition space in Vienna’s second district located in Augarten park. Augarten park. The exhibition showcased works from the collection in two thematic exhibitions every year. The Foundation organizes exhibitions of the collection across the globe. After graduating from Saint Martin’s School of Art she became an model, actress and singer. Her nightlife throughout London throughout the 1980s gained her the title of an It girl.
After she quit Saint Martin’s she lived in England, New York and Los Angeles before moving to Lugano in order to serve as curator of her father’s collection of art. Between 1991 and 1995, she was a part of the Croatian War of Independence she visited Croatia to save Croatia’s culture and art as well as to assist in the restoration of churches and paintings that were damaged by the war.
Von Habsburg regularly participates in biennales by commissioning new works of contemporary art through a foundation called Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) which she founded in 2002 in Vienna. She has built up her own art collection with around 700 works of contemporary video and digital art, by artists such as Candice Breitz, Simon Starling and Kutluğ Ataman.
