He was the former president of the Superior Court of Sport Justice the highest authority for Sport Justice in Brazil.
He was the founding member of Academia Nacional Desportivo (National School of Sport Law) and, since July of 2016, he is the president of the Comissao Nacional de Acompanhamento Legislativo (National Committee for Monitoring Legislative Reform) from the Federal Brazilian Bar Association Council.
In May 2017, he was appointed by Conmebol to, since then, integrate FIFA Ethics Committee FIFA, being the first Brazilian to hold such position.
In 2014, he declared that the decision not to seek another term to work exclusively for the law firm run by his family again. In June of that same year, Caio Rocha was chosen as his successor. But, Flavio remained as auditor.

Before that his father, Luiz Zveiter served as President from 1996 to 1998, then again between 2000 between 2000 and 2005. Between 2000 and 2005, Sergio Zveiter, Flavio’s uncle, was appointed the President. Waldemar Zveiter was Flavio’s great-grandfather as a judge in the court of appeals and the former Ministry of the Superior Court of Justice was a close associate and lawyer for Roberto Marinho, founder of Organizacoes Globo.
Flavio Zveiter, a former judge in the Court of Appeal was elected Presidency of the Court in July 2012, with Caio Rocha as Vice President, as well as Paulo Schmitt, reelected as Attorney General.
In 2015, he was a member of the Commission of Jurists in Federal Senate, being responsible for preparing the bill for the General Sports Law. He took office on February 2, 2016 as member of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association for the three-year period – 2016/2018 – representing the State of Rio de Janeiro.
