Filippo is born the 10th of June 1983. He began mountain biking in 1997 and was soon completely in love with it. As a junior racer between 1999 and 2001 He had some impressive performance results. He finished 3rd in the 1999 SRAM Sea Otter Classic, which was a race with 150 participants, and was also in 1999 the Sand Blaster Champion with 3 out of five wins. In 2001, he won named the Junior Expert State Champion with 5 of 8 wins. He won the 2002 State Championship. made the move into the pro class and his aim was on making it to the 2004 Brazilian Olympic Team. In 2002, he took home his first Florida sunshine State games. The same year, he placed 2nd Overall for the “Ford No Boundaries Mountain Bike Series” and was 15th during the Norba Nationals in West Virginia. At the end of the 2002 season his family was going through a difficult period and he was forced quit racing in order to assist them in any way he could. After 8 years the athlete was fortunate enough to have people who believed there was still a great potential in the sport of cycling. In August of 2010, he began cycling again and ran his first race again in Cat. 2. He won it. He then determined to return to full-time racing. In the 2010-2011 season, he finished second overall at the State Series with 2 wins in eight races. He also took first overall at the Coconut Cup with 4 out of 6 wins in the Cat. Cat. 2. In 2011, he repositioned himself to the Pro Class again and won three Pro Races in the La Rooota Series. In 2012 the racer has set the goal of competing in 2012’s 2012 Pan American Games.
