Maria Fernanda Arozqueta Chahin (born 16 January 1989 in Mexico City, Mexico) is professionally known as Fernanda Arozqueta, is a Mexican actress and singer. She was a an ex-member in the Mexican rock group “La Nueva Banda Timbiriche”.

After the disbandment of La Nueva Banda at the end of June, 2009 Arozqueta received a place at Centro de Educacion Artistica, the acting school operated by the media giant Televisa located in Mexico City. For three years she studied acting, voice and dance, as well as performing in school plays of various kinds. She completed her studies at CEA in the year 2011. While at CEA she was a part-time actress in minor roles on television shows like Esperanza del corazon and Cachito de Cielo from 2010 until the year 2011. Then, in 2013, she auditioned and was selected as one of the co-hosts of “P.M.”, a late- night, pop-culture-themed television show that was produced by Televisa. The show was targeted at a young adult audience via different digital platforms. The show debuted in Canal 5 on September 2 in 2013. It was aired on weeknights from 9 p.m. until twelve a.m. on Mexico.

In February 2014, she auditioned for a recurring role in El color de la pasión, Televisa’s newest telenovela. In March, she was confirmed as a cast member, playing the younger version of one of telenovela’s main characters, “Brígida”. The telenovela premiered on Canal de las Estrellas on March 17,

2014. She also appeared in the second and third seasons of the musical, Vaselina (Grease in English) from January to July 2014, replacing actress Geraldine Galván, who played “Chiquis” in the play’s first season. The play toured multiple cities in Mexico including Guadalajara and Puebla. Its third season ended in July 2014.

In January 2016, she began filming the television drama, Yago, in Mexico City. The series is scheduled to first premiere on May 2, 2016 on Univision in the U.S. It is expected to later air in Mexico.

In the year 2011, Arozqeuta formed Fridas, an electro-pop group that was formed by her colleague and friend Centro de Educacion Artistica classmate, Denisse Gares Aragon. They performed at various shows and at bars across Mexico City in late 2011 in the beginning of 2012. They began recording their debut album in the year 2012. Their debut single Pruebame first came out on 5 November 2012 on iTunes and Telehit in Mexico. The music video was made in November 2012, and premiered exclusive to Telehit in December of 2012. To advertise the single they appeared at radio shows and Mexico Suena the telecast concert featuring popular Mexican artists in 2013. They played an acoustic set with music from their album debut to the fans of Lunadas the music show on Televisa the 6th of March 2013. The music of the group was also featured in the TV shows Como dice el dicho and Gossip Girl: Acapulco. Their debut album, untitled, made it to the studio in Mexico City and completed in November 2012. It was written by Arozqueta, Aragon, and some of their other producers. The album was planned to contain 10 Spanish songs as well as an English-language version to “Pruebame”. The album’s title and release date were not announced and the album never released. Gares later joined a singing duo that was not Arozqueta and was contestant on the reality music contest, La Voz… Mexico in the final quarter of 2014. The duo broke up due to unknown reasons in the year 2014.

When she turned 18 years old, she started her career in music as an actress in the Mexican reality TV show, Buscando a Timbiriche, La Nueva Banda in 2007. Televisa conducted auditions across Mexico to find new members to update the lineup of the famous group of singers, Timbiriche. The show debuted at Canal de las Estrellas on June 24 on the 24th of June, 2007. Arozqueta was among 30 Finalists selected from all over Mexico. The show aired live every one week throughout Mexico and was concluded within four months. Contestants were trained by instructors and vocal coaches and shared an apartment. She was selected to be part of the group’s roster along the other six contestants.

In early July 2014, she began filming Hostel D.F., an exclusive web mini- series produced jointly in Mexico and with the Colombian production company, “Mimosa TV”. The series filmed in Mexico City. Its first episode premiered on August 3, 2014 on “Mimosatv.com”. In late March 2015, she was confirmed as a cast member for the telenovela, Amor de barrio, and portrayed “Dora Luz” on the program. She also joined the cast of ¡Sábados de foro! where she serves as a co-hostess on the news-related program for FORO TV in Mexico.
