Spencer is a native of Montreal, Quebec. Alongside with her older brother Spencer began training in Tae Kwon Do at the age of four. When she was twelve she began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , and then began adding Kickboxing to her routine five years after. She started to training MMA after joining Jungle MMA in 2009 when she relocated from Orlando where she was attending the University of Central Florida.
Spencer started her amateur career in 2012. After winning the initial “Tuff-N-Uff Future Stars of MMA” tournament , in which she defeated Leanne Foster to knock out Jessica Eve Richer at the second “Tuff-N-Uff Xtreme”, amassing 5-1 record, Invicta FC signed her in 2015.
Her next fight came over eighteen months later on March 25, 2017 at Invicta FC 22: Evinger vs. Kunitskaya 2. She faced Madison McElhaney in a Featherweight bout and she won the fight via unanimous decision with the scoreboard of (30–27, 30–27, and 29–28).
