He was a part of in collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod Baseball League. As an undergraduate playing at Georgia Southern, he had 10-4-0 record and an average of 3.96 earned run-adjusted (ERA). He was second place in the Southern Conference in wins and was the leader with innings pitched (120 3 ) as well as strikeouts (122) and completed game (four). He decided to turn professional in his final year of junior after completing his collegiate career with the most strikes (353) of any player who played in the history of Georgia Southern. He was chosen with the Kansas City Royals in the 12th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft.

He played in three games with the Storm Chasers before being recalled on May 17 in order to play with the match on 20 May in Arizona but was placed on the disabled’s list because of an abdominal strain in the lower part of his abdomen, but not being able to start. He was replaced again by Adcock who got the first start. He played in four additional games for Omaha before being sent back June 27, to replace Francisley Bueno. He was the first player to start that game with 5 innings pitched and allowing 2 runs and 4 hits while striking out five. He was able to make two more starts before being transferred into the bullpen, where the team replaced him with Ryan Verdugo. He pitched one time at the end of September. He was utilized mostly as an extra long reliever throughout his time. With 18 starts (5 in all) in 2012 for the Royals He recorded a 1-4 record with an 4.99 ERA, striking out 35 batters in 61.1 innings.

Everett James Teaford (born May 15th 1984) is an American former professional baseball player. He was a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays and also with the KBO League for the LG Twins.
Teaford got promoted Kansas City for the first time on May 16th, 2011 to take over for Vin Mazzaro. Since his debut on May 16 in 2011, Everett Teaford has played in 14 games. On August 3, 2011, Teaford earned his first major league save during the 7-2 Royals victory against The Baltimore Orioles. In his 26 game (3 games played) playing for the Royals in 2011, Teaford went 2-1 with a 3.27 ERA and 1 hold with 28 strikeouts over 44 innings.
