Eva Moser (26 July 1982 until 31 March 2019.) was an Austrian Chess player from Austria. She was given the titles of International Master (IM), in 2004 as well as Women Grandmaster (WGM) in 2003 by FIDE. Moser was the winner of both the women’s and absolute Austrian championships in chess. She also competed for her first Women’s World Chess Championship in 2008.
Moser was conferred the title of International Master by FIDE with the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM) in 2003 (Austria’s first time to be awarded this title) as well as International Master (IM) in 2004.
In 2006, she won the absolute Austrian Chess Championship in Köflach, becoming the first woman to do so. She won the Austrian women’s championship in 2010 and 2011.
Moser completed a degree in Business Administration in Graz in 2009. She worked for the Austrian chess magazine “Schach-Aktiv”.
In team competitions, Moser has represented Austria in the Women’s Chess Olympiad from 2000, the open section (commonly known as “men’s section”) of the 36th Chess Olympiad in 2004 as well as the The Women’s European Team Chess Championship since 2003, and the open sections of Mitropa Cup (1999, 2002 and 2004).
