Eva Qamaniq Aariak CM (Inuktitut: iifa aariak, IPA I:va A:Riak born 10 January 1955) is a Canadian Inuk politician that was elected to office in 2008’s local election for the district Iqaluit East in the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. Aariak was later elected as the second premier of Nunavut under the consensus system of government for the territory on November 14th of 2008. Aariak is the 5th woman to be the premier in Canada.

Aariak was the sole woman selected to Aariak was the only woman elected to Legislative Assembly in the 2008 election. Aariak later expressed her displeasure over the outcome suggesting that better child care services within Nunavut may be needed in order to allow women to be more active in the political process . Prior to her appointment to the MLA position, Aariak became the first commissioner of languages of Nunavut. Initially appointed for a four-year term that began in 1999, her term was extended by another year to December 2004.

On October 28, 2013 Aariak was not re- elected as an MLA, losing by 43 votes to George Hickes.
