Ester Rada is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on March 7, 1985 in Kiryat Arba, Israel. Rada was born in Kiryat Arba in Israel in a religious Ethiopian-Jewish family. Her parents, who were originally from a village in Gondar were saved by Israel from the refugee settlement within Sudan in Operation Moses, in 1984.

In the early months of 2013 Rada released her first EP titled Life Happens that featured four tracks. The album was praised by critics who described her music as a “cross-cultural sound that is a deep reflection of the Israeli born Ethiopian’s heritage” and “graceful composition of Ethio-Jazz, funk, soul and r&b, with mixed undertones of black grooves”. BBC described this album as her debut album, highlighting its “powerful, soulful voice and seductive combination of Ethiopian Jazz, funk and R&B.”

In May 2014, she sang at the Torch-lighting ceremony on Mount Herzl held as part of the Israel Independence Day celebrations.

On February 9, 2014, her first full album, Ester Rada, was published. The album was very well received by the critics and the public. In addition to the singles already included in her EP, the album included three singles – No More, Sorries and Nanu Nay; the first two became hits on the Israeli radio stations and Nanu Nay reached number seven for a few weeks on the charts, becoming the first song in amharic to be in the top 10 of the Israeli radio charts.

Rada began her career as an actor in the musical theater and received one of the awards for her performance in the Habima Theater’s The Troupe. In 2007 she was a key role in the TV series “Deus”. In the same year , she also played a character in Habima’s play Sdakim beBeton. Her musical career began with her military service with the Israel Defense Forces, where she performed Israeli pop songs in an IDF group.

Ester Rada (Hebrew: Astr radaA , born on 7 March 1985) is an Israeli actor and singer from Beta Israel origin.

She was raised in Amharic at home, and Hebrew at school. Her father was an organist in the Ethiopian community of Kiryat Arba. The couple divorced when she was young and later , she moved along with her parents and elder siblings to Netanya in the year 1996. Rada was eleven years old. It was a move she believes was a turning point in her life. This was because her family moved to a neighborhood that was less religious with a majority of Ethiopian Jews, and also began to meet French Olim who were well-versed in the rap and funk genres, which was that was not typical in a Jewish settlement such as Kiryat Arba.

She is currently working on her second album, after releasing her acclaimed first self-written and composed solo EP “Life Happens”, which was produced by Israeli producers Kuti (Kutiman/Thru-You) and Sabbo (Soulico), at the beginning of 2013, as well as her first full album, Ester Rada, in 2014.
