The tour started on July 6, 2012 and ended on September 21 the 21st of September, 2012. She was joined by American Idol season three top 10 finalist John Stevens to perform with the Beantown Swing Orchestra in a Christmas performance held in Providence, R.I. on December 9 on the 9th of December 2012. Her first single, “Listen, Learn, Then Delete” was released on July 31st 2013. The debut of Erika’s album “My Independence” was released on October 8, 2013. The executive producer of”My Independence” included Rich Sokolow and songwriters were Erika Van Pelt, Rich Sokolow, Peter Wostrel and Clara Lofaro. It was chosen for nominations in the two New England Music Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Best Indie/Pop Act of the Year”. Erika has performed at a variety of big shows in 2013, including opening up for the Grammy nominee Daughtry at the WXLO Acoustic Christmas Concert held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts as well as performing as the opening act to Tegan Sara and Tegan Sara on WPRO’s “What Women Want Expo” in Cranston, Rhode Island, and playing during The Magic 106.7 Tree Lighting Ceremony together with Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block Fame on the Boston Common.
