Eric Schambari (born April 22 1978) is an American professional mixed martial artist that competes at middleweight. A professional MMA participant from 2005 on, Schambari is most notable for having competed at World Extreme Cagefighting and was semi-finalist at the Bellator Season Two: Middleweight Tournament and was knocked out in the finals by Bryan Baker.
He then faced Logan Clark at WEC 29. Schambari won a second time in a unanimity ruling (all three judges giving the fight a 29-28 score). But, the decision was seen as somewhat controversial due to the fact the fact that Clark was able to cause more damage with his bottom kicks up, as well as making a gogoplata and an Omoplata.
On December 20, 2014 Eric received his black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu from Travis Lutter.
In the third season of Bellator, in September of 2010, at Bellator 28 Schambari took on experienced Matt Horwich. Schambari took the fight by split decision, after employing an effective jab-and run strategy.
