Eric Riley (born June 2 the 2nd of June, 1970) is a retired American professional basketball player that was selected as a player by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round (33rd selection in the overall draft) in the 1993 NBA draft. Riley was a player with the Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics in five NBA seasons, scoring an average of 3.1 point per game. The player was injured as a reserve player from the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets who won the NBA championship.

In 2009, Eric Riley started a non-profit named High Rise Foundation. HRF is a charitable organization that is non-profit with the goal of educating young adults with sports programs including sports clinics, academic tutoring.

His rights were bought through the Houston Rockets in a trade that was completed prior to the 1993 NBA Draft. Riley played his first season with the 1993-94 Rockets with coach fellow Michigan Alumnus Rudy Tomjanovich, who won the team’s debut NBA title. While a player on that team Riley had to be placed on injured reserve prior the start of the playoffs. Riley was released the 12th of December, 1994.
