Eric Goldberg (born May 1 1955) is an American voice actor, animator and film director who is well-known as a director at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.
Goldberg served as the director of animation for Warner Bros.’ 2003 live- action/animation hybrid feature Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and also provided the voices of Marvin the Martian, Tweety, Michigan J. Frog, and Speedy Gonzales. While the film wasn’t commercially profitable at the box- office but it received favorable review from critics of the film as well. Goldberg got nominated to receive an Annie Award for Outstanding Directing in an Animated Feature Production for his direction of animation. He animated the title sequence of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s 2006 remake of The Pink Panther, with Bob Kurtz of Kurtz and Friends.
Two of Goldberg’s early films, For Sale and Good Old Fashioned Cartoon Violence, were preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2012.
In the following years, Goldberg closed his studio to join Disney Animation Studios, Burbank, California, to work on the movie Aladdin and was the animator in charge of the character Genie as well as the lead animator for Phil from Hercules (1997). Goldberg also served as the co-director for Disney’s 1995 film Pocahontas. While he was the primary animator for the Genie Goldberg also created all of the animation that was used in the MC Skat Kat’s “Big Time” music video which was completed in 1992, but not aired.

Goldberg was born in and was raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania, and relocated into Cherry Hill, New Jersey when he was a kid, and there Goldberg went to Cherry Hill High School East. Goldberg then went on to study at Pratt Institute, where he studied illustration. He began his career in the late 1970s, working for Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure for the Richard Williams studio, eventually shifting into Williams’ London studio and progressing through the ranks, between assistant and director. In the 1990s Goldberg created his own studio in London, Pizazz Pictures, to make commercials for television.
The year 1997 was when Goldberg started plans to create an animated short to George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The film was eventually incorporated into of the Disney’s Fantasia 2000 after Goldberg was granted access to his Disney staff to finish his film in the midst of a hiatus in production for The Emperor’s New Groove and Dinosaur. Goldberg also served as director of the Fantasia 2000’s “The Carnival of the Animals” segment. Susan Goldberg’s wife Susan was the art director for both segments.
