Erazem Lorbek is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on February 21, 1984 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Erazem Lorbek (born on 21 February 1984) is a Slovenian pro-league basketball athlete. With a height of 6 feet 10 inches (2.10 metres) high, the taller player mostly was a power forward position, however the player was also capable of playing in the middle position. Three times All-EuroLeague Team member, he took home the EuroLeague title in 2010 alongside FC Barcelona in 2010.

Lorbek received Lorbek was awarded the EuroLeague the 2004-05 campaign’s Rising Star award, and initially announced his intention to participate in his participation in the 2004, NBA draft, however Lorbek eventually retracted his name from the draft.

Lorbek was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2005 NBA draft, by the Indiana Pacers. But the Pacers did not sign him, and Lorbek continued to play in Europe. During the 2011 NBA draft, the Pacers traded the draft rights to Lorbek, to the San Antonio Spurs, as part of their trade for George Hill.

Lorbek began the 2006–07 season on loan from the Spanish league club Unicaja Málaga to the Italian league club Benetton Treviso; however, in February 2007, the deal was voided by the Italian Basketball Federation, due to unspecified violations of federation regulations. Lorbek then signed with Lottomatica Roma of the Italian league, where he became one of the best power forwards of the EuroLeague. He joined the Russian club CSKA Moscow in 2008, with whom he reached the EuroLeague 2008–09 season’s final, in his first season, and he was voted to the All-EuroLeague Second Team.

After playing basketball at the college level, Lorbek chose to return to Europe after spending an academic time playing at Michigan State, and signed an agreement with Fortitudo Bologna, a member of the Italian league, from which started his professional career. He was a player from 2003 until 2006 (for reasons of sponsorship the team was referred to by the name of Skipper Bologna in the 2003-04 season as well as Climamio Bologna from 2004-2006).

Lorbek started playing basketball in the youth teams from Union Olimpija, the top basketball club in his home town and also playing in the Slovenian league. Lorbek later joined the B team of Olimpija, which played playing in minor leagues in Slovenia from 1999 until 2002.

Lorbek was a student at Michigan State University in the U.S., where he played basketball in the NCAA tournament for Tom Izzo and the Spartans. The 2002-03 season as a freshman Lorbek averaged 6.4 per game and 3.3 rebound per game.

Lorbek was also a member of the senior men’s Slovenian national basketball team. With Slovenia’s senior national team, he played at the 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011 editions of the FIBA EuroBasket. He was one of the top players of the 2009 tournament, and earned the power forward position in the All-Tournament Team. In 2011, Lorbek said that he didn’t want to play for the Slovenian national team at EuroBasket 2011, just 15 minutes before Slovenia’s training camp started. Two days later, he changed his mind, and decided instead to represent Slovenia at the tournament, which was held in Lithuania.
