In 2003-2005, Nuotio produced a sprawling novel series that focuses on the girl who was born on the same day that Marilyn Monroe died. The novel is told chronologically about the girl’s early childhood and teenage years in the tiny Eastern Finnish town of Varkaus and, finally, about her turbulent life in Helsinki in her late forties. In 2006-2008, Nuotio wrote a crime-fiction novel trilogy that follows a young Finnish female journalist named Pii Marin, who must deal with racist insults when she is working as the first anchor of a TV news program with a the black African background in Finland. Pii Marin eventually gets enough and leaves the job. She is then transferred to a small town , where she is voluntarily involved in some of the most horrific crime. Matila & Rohr Productions is planning to create a feature film that is based on the novel that was the beginning of Pii Marin trilogy. Pii Marin Trilogy (Musta, “The Black One”).

Eppu Nuotio (born Eija-Riitta Silvennoinen 13 February 1962, Iisalmi, Finland) is a Finnish actress writer, screenwriter, author writer, playwright, and columnist.

After graduating from Iisalmi Lukio (High School), Nuotio studied dance and mime in France and screenwriting in New York City. She has appeared in a variety of Finnish TV shows as well as in theatres. Television appearances are the dramatic series Tuliportaat (“Stairs of Fire”), Sisaret (“The Siblings”) and the comic-character series Kesakerttu (“The Summer Kerttu”) that brought some controversy to Finland in the latter part of the 1990s. Sisaret was written in co-writing with Eppu Nuotio, and Sirpa Hyttinen. Nuotio has also translated versions of stage plays initially written by the Swedish or English press.
