Enyinnaya Abaribe is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on March 1, 1955 in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe (born March 1st 1955) is an Nigerian politician elected into the Abia South Senatorial District of Abia State in the Senate of Nigeria in April 2007. He is the head of state Nwadiohanma Ngwa. Enyinnaya is a flamboyant senator who is often a part of discussions on national issues. He is a part of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the Nigerian Senate. Abaribe has been the minority Leader of the senate. In January of 2020, Abaribe during a motion against the growing security concerns within Nigeria requested the president Muhammadu Buhari to resign reminding President Buhari that Nigerians elected him to power during 2015 . He was reelected in the year 2019 to address security issues within the nation. Abaribe stated that Buhari has made a vow during his presidential campaign during the 2015 election that Nigerians should oust Buhari (Buhari) out of the presidency in the event that he fails to improve security conditions throughout the country. “Nigerians have voted for a new government to the position of power. We’re going to stone them , since they’ve been unsuccessful” Abaribe’s motion at the Senate concluded.

Abaribe has been appointed Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Inter- Parliamentary Affairs (Senator Abdulaziz Usman of Jigawa-North East is the Chairman). Abaribe is also a part of Committees regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission, Senate Services, and Works. The month of October 2007 Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the secessionist group banned by law, Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) was being held being tried for treason, Abaribe and six other Senators from the southeastern region protested at the Federal High Court in Lagos to call for his release.

Abaribe was re-elected to the Nigerian 8th senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2015 and is currently representing the people of Abia South Senatorial District in the upper chamber. On the 13th of June, 2019 he was appointed as the Minority leader of the Senate.

Abaribe was elected Abia State’s Deputy Governor in the wake of Orji Uzor’s election in 1999 into the governorship. State’s House of Assembly impeached the deputy governor twice in 2000, and three times in 2003. When he was preparing for the third impeachment of his career and resigned on March 7th,

2003. He mailed his resignation by DHL in order to keep a the written evidence of his resignation. In the end, the House of Assembly formally voted to remove him from office a few days afterward, in a decision that Abaribe described as “medicine after death”. Abaribe was replaced in the role of deputy governor Eric Acho Nwakanma. Abaribe ran for Governorship under his All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) platform in 2003, but was defeated to Kalu.

Abaribe graduated with a WASSCE degree from Government College Umuahia in 1974. He then attended University of Benin. University of Benin, where Abaribe earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1979, and an advanced master’s degree in economics in 1982. He was a lecturer on economics at Edo State University from 1982 until 1985.
