Emma Grant is one of the most popular and richest Australian Rules Footballer who was born on July 22, 1989 in Gisborne, Australia. Emma Grant (born 22 July 1989) is a retired Australian rules football player which played in Collingwood during the AFL Women’s (AFLW).

After playing all seven games in the initial season and finishing 4th among the best and fairest way, Collingwood signed Grant during the 2017 season, during the period of trade in May 2017.

In March 2020, following the 2020 season in which she didn’t play due to a head concussion she got in pre-season, Grant announced her retirement.

In the time between the 2017 and the 2018 AFLW season, Grant participated in the VFLW for Diamond Creek in the VFLW and helped them reach the grand final. However, they fell in the premiership game against Darebin Falcons.

Grant was raised living in Gisborne and played senior football in Gisborne from the age of under-9s until under-12s. She was the first girl to be a part of Gisborne’s club. When she was 12 years old, she was forced to quit playing football because of league rules and switch to netball. After making the move to Bendigo for her studies at the university She became a member of VWFL team Bendigo Thunder in 2011 as an assistant player. She was captain of the club during the 2016 season, where they had never lost until they lost the premier division finale to Deer Park, and won the award for fairness and excellence with a vote of 10. The season was also when she was a part of Melbourne during two exhibition games.

After being selected to the team by Collingwood, Grant impressed in the practice match, which was a 10-point win against Collingwood’s Western Bulldogs, playing each quarter at different positions. She made her debut round one of 2017, playing in the inaugural AFLW match played at IKON Park against Carlton, where she was forced to leave the field in the 2nd quarter following Brianna Davey’s arm struck her during an attack. She was not allowed back on the field, after failing an examination for concussion.

Collingwood re-signed Grant for the 2019 season during the trade period in June 2018.
