On October 28, 2008 ElkY completed his record of winning tournaments by winning The World Poker Tour’s Festa al Lago tournament, winning the $1.4 million prize as the first prize. ElkY’s win was his first cash prize on the WPT. ElkY also became the third player alongside Roland De Wolfe and Gavin Griffin who have won an award on both the WPT as well as the EPT. In the wake of his accomplishments during the 7th season of the World Poker Tour, ElkY was awarded the title as “WPT Player of the Year.”

Any action or chat intended to help another player is unethical and is prohibited.” The winnings of the player were forfeited, and the other spots were elevated in the standings to compensate for his loss.
