Biography Elis Guri began to participate in wrestling during his early years under the direction by his father Eliyaz – a multi-time champion from Albania for Greco-Roman Wrestling. Guri began competing in important international youth events since 2002. The year 2003 was the first time Elis competed in the adults World Cup, unfortunately finished 37th. Guri was also trying to make it into in the 2004 Summer Olympics however, he failed in the qualifying competition. In the very first instance Guri Albanian was able to make it into the top ten of the 2007 rankings which saw him placed 7th place at the world championships in Baku. The result also secured Guri an Olympic permit to compete for Beijing in the Beijing Games. Then, in April of 2008 Elis was awarded his debut important award, winning the bronze medal at his European Championship.
