On the 5th of August on the 5th of August, 2015, he made a signing as a player with AEK Athens. He joined the Kazakh club Astana from the VTB United League, for the 2016-17 season.

In Greece’s junior national teams, Katsivelis won the gold medal at the 2008 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, the silver medal at the 2009 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, and the silver medal at the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.
Katsivelis began his professional career at semi-professional level (the 3rd- tier level in Greek basketball) with Mantoulidis in the Greek B League. His professional debut came when he joined Olympiacos Piraeus, the Greek League club Olympiacos Piraeus in the year 2010. With Olympiacos they won the EuroLeague as well as the Greek League championships, in 2012. In 2012, with Olympiacos He has also been the champion of the EuroLeague as well as his first Greek League championship in 2015.
On July 1, 2018, Katsivelis was officially announced by Promitheas Patras.
