Devondrick Walker (born July 11 1991) was an American professional basketball player who plays for the South East Melbourne Phoenix of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played three seasons of college basketball at Texas A&M-Commerce before spending the initial three years of professional basketball playing in the NBA Development League. He travelled to the other side of the world initially in 2017, to join Australia with Perth Wildcats. Perth Wildcats, only to return to his home country prior to the 2017-18 season due injuries to his feet.
As a sophomore during the 2011-12 season, Walker saw action in every game, with 21 starts. He an average of 28.1 minutes. He also scored 8.9 scores, 3.9 rebound, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He was ranked as 10th within the Lone Star Conference in free throw percentage (76.9) and was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on February 27 in 2012. He scored double figures in 11 games and scored a record-setting 24 points during the regular season’s final in the game against Angelo State on February 25 2012.
As a senior in 2013–14, Walker was a second-team all-Lone Star Conference selection, his first such honor. He finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the league with 13.6 points per game and led the LSC with a 91.3-percent mark from the foul stripe. He also was named to the academic all-LSC team for the second time in his career, graduating in May. On June 5, 2014, he was named the recipient of the 2013–14 Lone Star Conference Scholar-Athlete Award for A&M-Commerce.
On October 30, 2015, Walker was reacquired by the Austin Spurs. However, on November 11, 2015, he was waived by the Spurs prior to the start of the 2015–16 D-League regular season. On January 18, 2016, Walker was acquired by the Westchester Knicks. He remained with Westchester for the rest of the 2015–16 season, and in 25 regular-season games, Walker averaged 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
In 2012-13, a junior, Walker appeared in all 29 games played by the Lions with 14 appearances. The average was 9.5 pointsand 3.2 rebound, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals in 24.7 minutes per game. He scored 41.5 percent on the ground, with 41.9 percent from the 3-point range and made 82.3 percent of free-throws, which is 2nd on the Lone Star Conference. He racked up 13 double-digit points in the entire year, with the most notable being his 20-point effort in the game against Southern Arkansas on November 26 2012.

Walker was a student at South Garland High School in Garland, Texas, where he earned three years of letterwinners. In 2009-2010, as a senior the average was 10 points with four assists, and four steals in a game, which earned him district all-district honors.
After graduating from High School, Walker had no scholarship offers. He was able to secure an offer in the last second via a connection that his assistant coach at the high school had. In May of 2010, Walker signed a letter of intention to play basketball at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the season 2010-11. Walker was a the former four-year Ranger Basketball player, and coach assistant at South Garland High School, Dominique Parker. He never played but after a single season, he was transferred to Texas A&M University Commerce, a school in the Division II category that was not widely known located outside of Dallas. There, Walker discovered a person who believed in him: head coach Sam Walker. Devondrick told the media in January of 2017 “I had an amazing head coach (Sam Walker). He forced me to defend when I didn’t want to, forced me to rebound when I didn’t want to.”
Upon graduating from college, Walker had no contract offers, and as a result, he thought his playing days had come to a close. However, after attending open tryouts with the Austin Spurs, Texas Legends and Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League, the Spurs added him to their training camp roster in early November 2014. In 2014–15, Walker helped Austin reach the Western Conference Finals of the 2015 NBA D-League Playoffs. In 37 games as a rookie, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
