Farmer played for a brief time with the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Seattle SuperSonics and the San Antonio Spurs.

After two seasons with the 66ers as well as the Rio Grande Valley Vipers also from the D-League, and some time on Puerto Rico, with Atleticos de San German, Farmer was signed by the San Antonio Spurs on September 18th of 2008. After a few games the team was able to waive him on November 16 in order to create roster space in the absence of another guard Blake Ahearn; he joined the Reno Bighorns in November 2009 after a brief period through Croatia together with KK Zadar.

Farmer played and attended college at his school, the University of Southern California (USC) and was averaging 19 points, and more than five rebounds over the two years he played and graduated in 2004.
After signing and then being cut shortly before the season began with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers in 2004, Farmer was a professional player throughout Greece, Belgium and Poland before returning to the U.S. to play for the NBA Development League’s Tulsa-66ers in 2005-06 and averaging 16.4 scores per match. Farmer was contracted to the Seattle SuperSonics in October 2006 before being released in January of 2007 playing in eight games throughout the season.
On January 31, 2013, he rejoined the Reno Bighorns.
