Derrick Allen is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on July 17, 1980 in Gadsden, Alabama, United States. Derrick Dewayne Allen (born July 17th 1978, died in 1979) was an American former professional basketball player.

In the years following, Allen made his mark in the German Basketball Bundesliga, playing for BG Karlsruhe, Bayer Giants Leverkusen and Alba Berlin, Bayer Giants Leverkusen Skyliners Frankfurt and Alba Berlin. Allen won Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga forward of the year honors in 2008 and was also a Eurobasket.com German Bundesliga All-German First Team selection in 2010, 2008 and the year 2011. He made it to the Bundesliga finals with Frankfurt in 2010 as well as Berlin in 2011. Through the years, Allen made multiple appearances in international tournaments, including the EuroCup and the FIBA EuroChallenge and the FIBA Europe Cup (FIBA EuroCup Challenge).

In September 2019, he was named assistant coach at German Bundesliga side SC Rasta Vechta.

Allen announced his retirement from professional basketball in August 2019.

Allen started the professional career of a basketball player in Iceland and was a player for Keflavik in the 2003-2004 season. Allen was an integral player in the Keflavik team’s double-winning season (national title and cup tournament) with an average that included 23.4 per game and 10.5 rebound during league games. In eight games during the FIBA Europe Cup (FIBA EuroCup Challenge) the player scored 26.6 per game and 9.4 boards per game.

He was forced to miss during the 2000-01 season because of an injury in the left knee. Allen was active in 60 games for his team the Ole Miss Rebels between 2001 to 2003, scoring 8.6 per game and 5.4 Rebounds per game.

He was part of Vechta’s Bundesliga promotion-winning side in 2016. At the end of the 2016-17 Bundesliga season, his Vechta team had to accept relegation from the German top-tier. Allen signed with another BBL team, Science City Jena on May 23, 2017.
