Deni (Denise) Loubert (born September 30 1951) is a Canadian comics publisher, co- founder of the Aardvark-Vanaheim publishing company and co-founder of Renegade Press. She is the ex-wife Dave Sim, with whom she co-founded Aardvark- Vanaheim. She also published Cerebus from issue #1 until number 77 (1977-1985).

As of 1987, Loubert received the Inkpot Award. In 2010 she was recognized as a member of the Canadian Comic Book Creator Hall of Fame.

in 1987 Loubert was awarded the Inkpot Award on behalf of Steve Ditko (Renegade released Ditko’s World in 1986). Ditko did not accept the award and contacted Loubert to complain, “Awards bleed the artist and make us compete against each other. They are the most horrible things in the world. How dare you accept this on my behalf.” At Ditko’s request, Loubert returned the award to the San Diego Comic-Con organizers.

Loubert Sim and Sim were introduced in 1976 and got married from the 6th of October 1978 until August 20th in 1983. The barbarian Aardvark Cerebus was initially sketched by Sim as a mascot for Loubert to accompany Loubert’s fanzine proposal, Cerberus which was a name that Deni often mispronounced. (The fanzine was never published.)

Aardvark-Vanaheim was run by Loubert was founded by Loubert. It began publishing comics other than Cerebus including William Messner-Loebs’ Journey and Bob Burden’s Flaming Carrot. Following Sim and Loubert’s divorce in 1984, Loubert started Renegade Press that took over publishing responsibility for all other Aardvark Vanaheim titles that weren’t Cerebus. Renegade Press operated from 1984 until 1989.
