She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Madras. She pursued her Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication in Madurai Kamarajar University. Later, she worked as a sub-editor in the New Indian Express and then went to the UK in 2010. She completed an M.A. in International Journalism at Cardiff university, in Wales.
