In 1984 she was hired by in 1984 with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a sports commentator and reporter as the very first female full-time broadcaster employed for the job by ABC Sport. In the same year , she was assigned as a reporter for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984, and two years later for the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. She was a reporter on the sidelines for ABC’s coverage of the rugby league as well as the very first female to make a comment on the cricket match on ABC Radio.
