The song was a commercial success prior to Eurovision becoming a Top 10 hit for him on the UK Singles Chart with the single released on 14 May 2006 just prior to the contest. Sampson represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest on 20 May 2006 in Athens, but only 10 of the 39 eligible countries voted for Sampson and his total score was 25 points, placing him 19th out of the 24 acts.
In the year 2004, Sampson returned to the Liverpool dance music scene and he formed a collaboration together with the producer Paul Keenan under the name Uniting Nations. Their debut single was “Out of Touch”, the remake of the Hall and Oates smash, which sold 150,000 copies within the United Kingdom and became a European chart-topper. Other hits that were big were “You And Me” (which hit the top of the charts at No. 15, in the UK) and “You And Me”, which was another smash in Europe as well as “Ai No Corrida”, that reached No. 18 also within the UK. The Smash Hits readers and viewers of T4 have voted Uniting Nations “Best Dance Act” at the very last Poll Winners Party in 2005. Sampson also scored three top-three singles in Poland together with Uniting Nations.
