David Ryan Harris (born April 19th in 1968) is an American musician and singer located in Los Angeles, California, United States. He was born in Evanston, Illinois, Harris relocated to Atlanta when he was a child. Harris is known for his variety of career as an artist.

Harris performed in March 2009. Harris appeared with Australian artist Guy Sebastian at SXSW, in Austin, Texas. Harris also performed with Steve Cropper and Sebastian at the 9th NON-COMMvention held in Philadelphia on May 9, 2009. The album was released in 2012 Harris wrote “Battle Scars” with Sebastian. The track, which features lyrics composed with and was performed by Lupe Fiasco reached number one and 9x platinum in Australia. It also reached the top two spots with double platinum New Zealand, and number two in Norway. “Battle Scars” spent 20 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart with a peak at 71 it was also certified platinum for one million sales. Ryan Harris toured Australia with Sebastian on the 46-date Get Along Tour in 2013.

Still working with O’Brien, Harris united with drummer Kenny Creswell and former bassist of the Black Crowes Johnny Colt, Harris created the trio Brand New Immortals. The group released a successful 6 track EP and were signed to Elektra Records by Lars Ulrich of Metallica. In 2001, the trio produced a full length album entitled Tragic Show, which the band felt that Elektra did not properly promote. Early the next year the band broke up and Harris returned to the pursuit of success as a solo artist.

After a short period out of the limelight, Harris began working as a producer and featured guitarist with Dionne Farris, a former vocalist from hip-hop group Arrested Development. Harris’ guitar work can be heard throughout Farris’ 1995 album Wild Seed, Wild Flower.

Although Harris is still promoting his own solo show He is often performing on stage alongside artists like John Mayer, Dave Matthews and Santana. Alongside artists like Sister Hazel, Better Than Ezra as well as Collective Soul, Harris has also performed at The Rock Boat musical festival from 2002 until 2009.
