Darnell Lamont Boone (born on January 21, 1988) was an American professional boxer. While he’s never been a contender for a world title Boone is well-known for his fights with many future world champions over his career, ranging from mediumweight through light heavyweight. In 2004 Boone became the first fighter to get an unbeaten knockdown Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward, who went to win a unanimous decision against Boone. In the year 2010, Boone was the cause of a major upset when he knocked off the future World champion Adonis Stevenson. Stevenson later took revenge by knocking out Boone in 2013. Boone also beat Willie Monroe Jr. in 2011 who then fought twice to win the world title. Others world champions Boone has fought includes Jean Pascal, Erislandy Lara along with Sergey Kovalev (twice).

Boone last fought in November 2018, making his cruiserweight debut, a draw.
Boone was then scheduled to fight against the upcoming world title challenger and the undefeated 10-0 Willie Monroe Jr.. In March of 2013, Boone fought Stevenson again in a rematch. He lost by KO in the sixth round.

After a slow start into boxing, Boone had just ten amateur fights prior to turning pro in the year 2004. Boone was first introduced to boxing through his younger brother’s gym. At his first session of training Boone sparred with the his future World boxing champion Kelly Pavlik.
After improving to 10-3-1 Boone took on two-time World Champion Enrique Ornelas, and Anthony Thompson and Anthony Thompson, both losing unanimously in both bouts.
In April 2010, Boone was matched up with future lineal, Ring, and world titleholder Adonis Stevenson, in another fight Boone took on short notice against an undefeated fighter as Stevenson was 13-0 at the time. Boone at the time was 16-15-2, and on a five-fight losing streak (the first three fights being decision losses to Craig McEwan, Erislandy Lara, and Edwin Rodriguez, respectively). In an upset Boone finished Stevenson 17 seconds into the second round. Leading up to the fight, Boone had been self-trained.
