Daniel “Dan” McLay (born 3 January 1992) is a British racing cyclist who competes in track, road, and cyclocross. He is a member of the UCI ProTeam Arkea-Samsic. His first year as professional was in 2015 when he competed for the French pro-continental and the 2014 Tour de France wildcard outfit Bretagne-Seche Environnement. Primarily a sprinter McLay is also skilled on racing in Flemish racing scene, and has an especially connection with his participation in the Northern Classics. McLay was on the starting list in the race of Tour de France in 2016. His first professional win was the following year in his 1.HC placed Grand Prix de Denain, working his way to the middle of the field to take the race. His second victory came a month later at the Grand Prix de la Somme which he beat Nacer Bouhanni to finish in 2nd. Because of these two victories, McLay was selected to participate at his very first Tour de France, and was with a Top 10 in his first sprint finish. Following two more top 10 finishings, McLay finished on the podium on Stage 6 , finishing just behind Cavendish as well as Kittel.

After his Tour de l’Eurométropole win, it was announced that McLay would join the WorldTour peloton by signing with EF Education First–Drapac p/b Cannondale for the 2018 season.

He signed for the Bretagne–Séché Environnement professional continental team for the 2015 season. He won his first professional victory in Stage 3 of the 2015 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo. In the first UCI World Tour race of his career, the 2015 Paris–Nice, McLay came eighth in stage 5.

As of 2009, McLay was admitted to the British Cycling Olympic Academy. McLay won the bronze medal at the Madison at the UEC European Track Championships with his partner Sam Harrison. McLay also represented Great Britain at the 2009 Junior UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships.
