Dan Pasqua is one of the most popular and richest Baseball Player who was born on October 17, 1961 in Yonkers, New York, United States. Daniel Anthony Pasqua (born October 17th, 1961 in Yonkers, New York) is an ex- Major League Baseball outfielder. The left-handed power hitter is a representative of the community for the Chicago White Sox.
While Pasqua hit six home runs throughout the month of May, 1987, he had to struggle to keep his average above .200. At the end of June the left field position was taken by Gary Ward, and Pasqua was back at Columbus. He was back with the Yankees in July mid-July, and hit .268 which included nine homers and 19 RBIs through the remainder in the regular season. In the Winter meetings, Pasqua, pitcher Steve Rosenberg and the catcher Mark Salas were dealt to the Chicago White Sox for pitchers Richard Dotson and Scott Nielsen.
In 1989, it was Pasqua whose season was cut short by injuries. In the second game of the season, he suffered a right wrist injury that kept him out of the line-up until May 14. On August 4, he twisted his knee in the outfield. After which, he made two pinch hitting appearances and three starts at designated hitter before being shut down for the season. This knee injury limited Pasqua through the start of the 1990 season. When he did return, he mostly pinch hit or served as designated hitter.
1991 saw Pasqua shift into more of a first baseman, as he made 83 appearances at first, versus just 59 in both corner outfield positions. Regardless of where he played on the field, he hit, as 1991 was his best season with the bat. He had a career high 108 hits that produced a career high 71 runs and a career high 66 RBIs. He also hit eighteen home runs with a career high five triples.
While Yankees manager Lou Piniella (who was, himself a left fielder in his playing times) made Pasqua his left fielder of choice in the Spring Training of 1986, left-fielder Ken Griffey ended up winning the job after Pasqua hit .102 in the Spring. Pasqua started the season with Columbus and hit .291 with seven home runs and twenty RBIs before being recalled from the Yankees on May 18. In his first game back in pinstripes Pasqua was 2-for-3 with an RBI, a home run with four RBI. The following day, he was able to play his second career two-home run game. As his batting percentage remained between .300 through the majority of June and he made his first ever appearance in the first position on June 28,, in order to put his bat in the field more often. Since the perennial All-Star Don Mattingly had a firm control of the first base position at the time, the Yankees traded Griffey into his former team, the Atlanta Braves on June 30 to create the possibility of a regular spot for Pasqua to fill in the gap in their lineup. As the left field role was actually his, Pasqua batted .296 with thirteen homes and 35 RBIs throughout the course of his season.
