Dan Ilic (born (1981-11-20 ) 20 November 1981) is an Australian comedian, host, and film maker. Ilic is well-known for his work in parody as well as his videos, Beaconsfield: The Musical, that he co-wrote as well as his role in the TV show Hungry Beast. Dan’s mum is Lebanese as well as Italian. Dan’s father was born Germany and was raised by Serbian parents. Dan was the previous director of satirical content at the digital content company AJ+.
Ilic was a presenter/reporter for the Andrew Denton produced show Hungry Beast, which aired on ABC1 and also as a performer/writer for Can of Worms on Network Ten. At Macquarie University he performed in several shows including Chris McDonald’s The Beatification Of Newt Berton, the Great Viagra Robbery (in which performed with Heath Franklin and James Pender). The show toured to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and a short run in Canberra in 2003.
Production by Ilic Beaconsfield: The Musical, that debuted in Melbourne in the latter part of 2008, was a look at the media circus surrounding the tragic events of 2006’s Beaconsfield mine loss. The production received a favourable review however, its initial title, Beaconsfield: A Musical in A-Flat Minor, was strongly critiqued, which led to the change of title.

Ilic was also behind Vicroads’ controversial “Don’t be a dickhead” campaign, which makes fun of “gingers” and “emos” in an attempt to create awareness of using mobile phones while driving.
