Dan Tore Eliasson (born 14 August 1961 in Sundsvall) is an Swedish civil servant and lawyer. The appointment of the National Police Commissioner by the Minister of Interior Affairs on November 14, 2014, and was appointed at the beginning of January. Eliasson is graduated from law school at Uppsala University and had prior to his appointment been the Director-General for the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. He also served as Ambassador and Chief of International Affairs in the Ministry of Justice in 1999-2001 and State Secretary under minister for Justice Thomas Bodstrom in 2001-2006 Acting director of the Swedish Security Service in 2006 and Director-General of the Swedish Migration Agency 2007-2011.

In September 2015, in the midst of the current European immigration crisis, Eliasson, being the chief of police, stopped attempts by Swedish customs and regional police authorities to establish border control. In the end the cabinet ministers were not able to receive no requests from police to establish border controls. The control was imposed on November 16, 2016 by cabinet.
