Brown took on Frank Camacho on 19 November 2017 during UFC Fight Night: Werdum against. Tybura. At the time of the weigh-ins, Camacho was weighing in at 160 pounds, four pounds more than the lightweight maximum weight of 150 pounds. The fight was fought with a catchweight, and Camacho gave up 30% of his money to Brown. He was defeated by a split decision. The fight earned him a Fight of the Night bonus.
After his release from the UFC, Brown signed a two-fight contract with Rizin FF. Brown made his promotional debut against fellow UFC veteran Daron Cruickshank at Rizin 14 on December 31, 2018. He won the fight via submission in the first round.
On July 2, 2018, it was announced that Brown was released from UFC.
Brown made his debut as a promotional fighter at the age of one week notice in March of 2016 in the UFC Fight Night 85 event. UFC Fight Night 85 against Alan Patrick and lost by decision (unanimous).
