Damian Johnson (born March 9 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. He played four seasons of basketball at the college level for Minnesota and played the beginning two years in professional play in Japan and in the NBA Development League. After moving into Australia during 2014, the player began to make an impression within the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). In the course of three seasons with the SEABL, Johnson was a winner every year, and he also won two consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2015 and in 2016.

On January 14, 2014, Johnson was signed by the Mount Gambier Pioneers for the 2014 SEABL season. After the end of December, he signed a new contract as a player with the Pioneers for the season of 2015. The team won two consecutive championships in 2015 and also earned Defensive Player Of the Year awards. In the 55 games played by the Pioneers during two seasons, the average was 15.1 scores, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

After leaving Louisiana during the year 2005 Johnson was redshirted in his debut season in Minnesota before joining in the Golden Gophers for the 2006-07 season. After playing infrequently during his freshman season, Johnson made his way up the chart as a sophomore with an average of 7.1 points over 22.6 minutes of playing time. As a junior from the 2008-09 season, he averaged 9.8 points. Following his undrafted status at the time of the 2010 NBA draft Johnson played with both The Miami Heat and the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2010 NBA Summer League. In August of 2010 Johnson signed with the Oita Heat Devils for the 2010-11 league season. In 47 games played for Oita the Heat Devils, he averaged 15.9 per game, 8.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.

On November 12, 2015, Johnson signed with the Bendigo Braves for the 2016 SEABL season. He helped Bendigo win the 2016 SEABL championship while earning his third straight title. He also earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors. In 24 games for the Braves in 2016, he averaged 15.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.8 blocks per game.
