Dalton Castle is one of the most popular and richest Amateur Wrestler who was born on March 4, 1986 in Albany, New York, United States. Brett Giehl (born March 4 1986) more popularly known as his nickname in the ring, Dalton Castle, is an American professional wrestler and emcee currently signed by Ring of Honor (ROH). In ROH Giehl is an ex-ROH World Champion and World Six-Man Tag Team Champion. Giehl is also well-known for his time in Chikara which Giehl wrestled under the name Ashley Remington and Dalton Caroline Castle.

Dalton Castle debuted in Ring of Honor in May 2013 in the Ring of Honor at Dragon’s Reign. He was joined by “The Boys” (dubbed “Boy 1” and “Boy 2”) in January of 2015, Castle joined into the ROH Top Prospect Tournament, losing to Ashley Sixx in the first round. Donovan Dijak, the tournament’s eventual winner, decided to let go of his chance to win his chance at the ROH World Television Championship against Jay Lethal to instead join The House of Truth, leading Castle to take on Lethal to win this title during March. Lethal accepted the challenge and defeated Castle with the help of Dijak as well as J. Diesel.

In November 2011 Castle worked with International Wrestling Cartel (IWC), where he won the IWC Heavyweight Championship on December 14, 2013. He lost the title on January 24, 2015, to RJ City in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. Dalton is the second longest reigning IWC World Heavyweight Champion, having held the title 406 days. On May 9, 2015, Castle faced Tommy Dreamer for the title in a four-way elimination match that also included RJ City and Justin LaBar, but was defeated.

In 2011, Castle returned to ESW, where he and his partner Will Calrissian won the ESW Tag Team Championship by defeating The Rochester Wrecking Crew (Hellcat and Rob Sweet) at ESW WrestleBash. They held it 238 days until June 1, 2013, when it was dropped to The Flatliners (Asylum and Matt Burns) at ESW Aftershock. The team broke up afterward.

In the year 2011, Giehl worked as an emcee on WZNE at Rochester, New York under the name of The Giehl. During his time with the station, Giehl also interviewed the wrestler who was also a professional Kurt Angle. Giehl continued to join WQBK-FM in the year 2011 until 2014. He hosted an afternoon slot of five hours on the radio station under the Dalton Castle name. Since Jan. 2012 station’s YouTube channel aired a show known as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Tights in which Castle interviewed wrestlers from professional wrestling. The participants include Luke Harper, Velvet Sky, CM Punk, Matt Hardy as well as Dean Ambrose.

Giehl wrestled for over 10 years from middle school until college and was a member of his team the Greece Athena High School Trojans in 2003. He was also the winner of the varsity championship in the 171-pound category in the year 2004. Giehl was also an amateur NCAA wrestler who won the New York championship in Greco-Roman wrestling, and was a three-time participant in the NCAA All-State Team. He was also a part of Team USA, traveling internationally to compete in to compete in the World Championships. 2010 was the year he was able to win an additional title during the Beach National, winning 1st place in the 215 lb division for Livonia WC.

In 2009, during 2009, he wrestled in Next Era Wrestling (held in The Auditorium Center in Rochester, New York) after beating Brett Mednik (April 18) and Brandon Thurston (June 20) the wrestler was unsuccessful in his attempt to challenge Josh Jordan (the Northeastern Champion) on July 18, however, they later teamed up. In August 2nd, 2009 Castle defeated Marc Krieger at an Empire State Wrestling (ESW) event which followed his loss on 15 August at the hands of Bobby Fish. Castle had a brief time with ESW until the time he quit the promotion. In June and May of 2010 Castle had two titles with Krieger to win his Northeastern Championship, losing the first one and taking the second title by disqualification.

At Wrestling Is Intense’s final event on September 15, 2013, Darkness Crabtree’s match with Jervis Cottonbelly went to a no contest after the reformed GEKIDO attacked and tore down the show, with Gekido ultimately “killing off” Crabtree. In a series of videos titled “Rough Waters” posted to Chikara’s YouTube channel, it was revealed that Crabtree left a will granting a great deal of money to his kayfabe nephew Dalton “Caroline” Castle, causing Castle to alter his image to that of a wealthy yachtsman and adopt the new name of Ashley Remington.

On September 30, 2016 at All Star Extravaganza VIII Dalton Castle and Colt Cabana defeated All Night Express, War Machine, Shane Taylor and Keith Lee in a four corner survival tag team match won to become the number 1 contender for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. On ROH television on November 19, 2016, Colt Cabana attacked Dalton Castle and The Boys and turned heel by splitting up the tag team. At Final Battle Castle defeated Colt Cabana. On April 1 at Supercard of Honor XI Castle was defeated by Christopher Daniels in a match for the ROH World Championship. Castle won his first title in ROH on June 23, 2017, when he and The Boys defeated Bully Ray and The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship at Best in the World. They lost the title to Bullet Club’s Adam Page and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) on August 20, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
