Daisy Jopling was born on 19 February 1969 in London. She started playing the violin at the age of 3 and when she was 14 she played Bach’s Double Concerto for Violin and Oboe at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Jopling played violin with Itzhak Raschkovsky in the Royal College of Music, David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as Boris Kuschnir at the Konservatorium Wien, Austria. When she was 19 Jopling was studying Hungarian Folk violins in Gymes, Transylvania. After five years, Jopling travelled to Ghana by herself to learn Kpanlogo drumming with the Mustapha Tettey Addy drumming school. Jopling relocated out of London in 1994 to Vienna in 1994 before moving moved to New York in 2006.

In 2009, Jopling worked in 2009 with NYC producer Bojan Dugic to record her debut single album “Key to the Classics”. In the year 2011, Jopling formed “The Daisy Jopling Band” together with keyboardist/pianist Daniel Mintseris, bass player Ben Zwerin, and drummer Doug Yowell . Their music blends traditional and modern elements. Jopling has worked with some of the top musicians in the world. In the band Triology she performed on platform with Bobby McFerrin at the Centro Historico Festival in Mexico City, performed alongside solo violinists Julian Rachlin and Janine Jansen and also performed with jazz producer and musician, Wolfgang Muthspiel. As part of Ensemble Modern in Germany, Jopling worked with Shubha Mudgal. Also, with Kristjan Jarvi’s “Absolute Orchestra” she collaborated with Joe Zawinul. The year 2005 saw Jopling was in concert before an crowd of 30,000 at the start of Vienna Festival held in Austria together with Cuban singer Omara Portuondo. In May 2008, she was part of Russian Songbird Boris Grebenshchikov’s performance in the Royal Albert Hall in London.
