Cyd Ho is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 24, 1954 in British Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Ho attended in the University of Waterloo, Canada. She worked in the trading of textiles industry from 1979 until 1995.

In 2004, the 2004 Legislative Council election returned candidates elected to office using an electoral system based on a proportional representation system based on party lists. There were four candidates competing for this Hong Kong Island constituency. The left-wing ticket were represented by the Democratic Association for the Greater Hong Kong’s ticket made up comprised of Ma Lik and Choy So-yuk The centrist ticket is led with Rita Fan.

In 2006, she quit the Frontier and became the chairperson of the Hong Kong Human Rights Monitor and the co-convener of Project Civil Referendum, a scheme to pilot and promote the idea of holding a referendum in Hong Kong.

In addition to remaining as a key member of the Frontier until 2006, Ho hosted weekly radio programmes on two local radio stations in 2006 – on RTHK and PRHK. She hosted a radio show on the internet radio station My Radio on Thursday nights (2200–2300 HKT).

She was elected the District Council member of the Central and Western district through the Kwun Lung (Guan Long ) constituency in November 2003. She defeated veteran Ip Kwok-him, a member of the DAB by 64 votes. She also backed those from other pro-democracy groups like Civic Act-up who were also running for seats in District Council. Ho was a volunteer in 1991. Ho assisted Emily Lau during her election campaign which was the first direct and open election by Legco to be held in Hong Kong. In 2012, soon after Ho re-elected as member of Legco, she put forward a proposal calling for public consultation on legislation to outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation. This proposal was supported by most of the pro-democrats and some pro-Beijing lawmakers, but was veto by Democratic Party lawmaker James To (who voted abstained) and pro-Beijing conservative parties. During her terms, Ho is one of only few legislators to openly support same-sex marriage and other LGBT rights, conservative parties and groups criticized her on this issue. Though most of the pro-democrats support non-discrimination laws, they are less openly discuss and talk about this issue, as the pro-democrats have many supporters with many social conservative views.
