Stenbeck was appointed the head of the company in 2003, when she was the vice- chairman of Investment AB Kinnevik, later becoming chairman in 2007. In 2016, she resigned in her role as the chairman for Kinnevik to focus on her job as principal owner, with a focus on investments, primarily in the area of e-commerce.
