Craig Stuart Sives (born 9 April, 1986) is an Scottish ex-professional association footballer who played in the defender position. Sivers began his professional career with Edinburgh Club Heart of Midlothian, where the player made two appearances before he was loaned for Partick Thistle and Queen of the South. Then, he joined Irish clubs Shamrock Rovers and Australian side Hume City, before returning to Scotland to join Livingston. In the aftermath of a temporary stint for Cowdenbeath in 2016, he was signed by the club on a permanent basis, playing 13 games before quitting football in the month of January in 2017.
On March 9, 2009 following failing a medical test, Shamrock Rovers offered him the chance to be an unpaid member of their team while they went through a rehab program under the medical team. He was awarded the short-term contract that was signed at the end of May. Sives played his Rovers debut in an FAI Cup clash at the Tallaght Stadium on 13 June 2009, against Drogheda United. He was awarded Rovers”Young player of The Year on November 7, 2009 by the fans at the club.
Sives scored his first goal for the Hoops in August 2010 against Sporting Fingal, with both side drew. He helped Rovers win their first League of Ireland championship in 16 years on the final day of the 2010 season after a 2–2 draw in Bray. Craig played a major part in Rovers very successful 2011 season, winning the League of Ireland, Setanta Cup and playing in the Europa League group stages. He missed Rovers final 2 group stage matches due to his 2nd double hernia operation.
He was named in the 2011 League of Ireland PFAI Premier Division Team of the Year on 13 November and was voted Rovers’ Player of The Year on 1 December 2011 by the fans The following month, Sives signed a new deal with the club.
Dundee signed Sives on loan for the 2007-08 season. However, Sives did not participate in any games in competition because of injuries. Sives later signed with Dumfries team Queen of the South on an agreement for a loan 1 September 2008. He was back at Hearts at the end of December following being out for the entirety of November suffering from an injury to his ligament in the ankle.

Sives was a student at Oxgangs Primary School and Firrhill High School where he played for the youth team Hutchison Vale, before signing for the boyhood club Hearts on June 2, 2002. After impressing Hearts’ reserve and under-19 teams, the massive centre-back was handed his debut at the 2004 Festival Cup against Hibernian, scoring the first goal in a 3-1 victory. He was a part of the league for two games during the 2004-05 season however, he didn’t appear in any games during the 2005-06 season due to a back injury.
Sives signed a five-year contract in July of 2006 and then went on loan at Partick Thistle to gain further experience. Although he had a great beginning of his Thistle career but he was again hampered due to injury in the early months of November of 2006, after a groin strain left him in the hospital during five consecutive months. He was able to return for the final 2 months however it was later discovered that he was playing through a double hernia that was cured by operations in May 2007.
In January 2009 after three-and-a-half injury-plagued seasons, he was released from his contract at Hearts. After being released by the club, Sives became the latest opponent to be critical of Vladimir Romanov the way he run the club, describing this as “shambles”.
