Coleman was able to make his Bellator debut on the 24th of January 2013, when he faced Matt Jones at Bellator 86. He won via unanimous decision.
Coleman was born and raised in the United States. He began his professional wrestling career in 2000, wrestling for various independent promotions. In 2006, he signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and was assigned to their developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He made his television debut on the main roster in 2009, under the ring name Conquistador Cortez.
Coleman was released from WWE in 2011. He then joined Impact Wrestling in 2012, where he has since gained prominence as one of the company’s top stars. He is a former Impact World Champion and has also held the Impact X Division Championship and the Impact Grand Championship.
Coleman was then matched against Keith Berry at Bellator 96 on June 19th 2013. Coleman lost a split decision.
