Clive George Wright, Jr. (born 18 November 1965) is a Jamaican former track and field athlete who excelled in the 200-meter sprint. He was awarded numerous medals by his Jamaican relay squad, including his first World Championships relay medal (a bronze) during the 1987 World Championships in Athletics, along with the bronze-medal in the Pan American Games in 1987 and two bronze medals for relays during the 1990 Commonwealth Games.

After losing in the final to Windell Dobson in 1991 Wright was the winner of the fourth (and the final) Jamaican 200 m championship in 1992. The result earned him his place on the Jamaican Olympic team for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He was not included in the relay team, however he was able to achieve the best Olympic performance in the 200m individual event, placing seventh in the semi-final. It was his last year at the top of his game as a professional, both internationally and nationally.

He was the multiple Jamaican winner in the 200m race and also held a personal record time of 20.50 seconds in the 200 m distance. He represented Jamaica in this race during the Summer Olympics in 1988 and the 1992 Olympics.

The family was born in Dover located in Saint Mary Parish, Jamaica He did not participate at a high level during his youth , but became a star at the senior level around the age of 21. He took his first 200-meter title during the Jamaican Athletics Championships that year and made his debut on the international stage. He first competed in the 1987 IAAF World Indoor Championships, which he narrowly missed qualifying for the 200-metre final. He took home two gold medals in the 1987 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics in the 200m and 4x100m relay. In 1987, the Pan American Games followed and Wright finished fifth in the 200m before securing a bronze relay medal with the quartet of Ray Stewart, Andrew Smith and John Mair. The team regrouped for 1987 World Championships in Athletics, including Wright taking the bend and he also won a bronze medal for the first time Jamaican men took home medals in relays at the Olympics. Wright also competed in a solo race for Jamaica and competed in the semi-finals, achieving an all- time best in 20.50 seconds.

He was able to defend his nation’s title at the 200-meter race the next year, and made the Olympic debut. In 1988, at the Seoul Olympics He was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the individual 200 meters, but he joined with Christopher Faulknor, Greg Meghoo along with John Mair for the relay. The Jamaicans came just short of the World Championship medal-winning time in the final of the 4x100m relay but finished in fourth place, behind the French team, who were seven hundredths quicker. After a third consecutive Jamaican Championships win, he tried to defend the two regional titles he won during the 1989 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics but fell two hundredths less than the national team’s star athletes Edgardo Guilbe, in 200 meters. Alongside the Jamaican men , he was able to defend his relay title. Two bronze medals were in the pipeline for Wright during the 1990 Commonwealth Games, as the Jamaican athletes finished third place in both the four-x100-m relay as well as the 4×400 m relay (Mair Wright and Wright were part of both teams and were joined by Ray Stewart and Wayne Watson being part of the 100-meter team, as well as Devon Morris and Howard Burnett in the larger group of sprinters). Wright was also 7th in the semifinals for the 200 m individual.
